A few folks have asked if I'm still making Best Friends Fleece and the answer is YES! In fact, this business is an ongoing fundraiser for New Rattitude, so my sewing machine is sitting on 'ready' to get humming whenever orders come in.

I'll be adding new fleece periodically. If you have an idea of a particular fleece pattern or color your dog would like, drop me a note and I'll see if I can find what you're looking for.

Argyle Hoodie!

Now available: one size large blue and black fleece Argyle Hoodie! This hoodie is a one of a kind; I will not be making any more hoodies except by special request. This Hoodie has a 17" spine measurement.

In actuality, the dog will most likely not want to wear the hood on his head. It's basically a fashion statement...like the hoodies that humans wear. Rarely does a person actually wear the hood; it just does it's job of looking good hanging on their back. This is the function of this hood...a nice looking addition to the outfit. Of course, if your dog doesn't mind wearing hats, by all means he can wear the hood and keep his ears warm!

Doggie Jamz

It seems that stores have plenty of doggie apparel, but rarely can you find four-legged outfits for dogs. These fleece doggie "Jamz" provide lots of warmth to the dogs...even all four legs! The jamz are one piece and are easy to slip on and off the dog.

I first started sewing these jammies as post-surgery cover-up for my dog who had had knee surgery. I wanted something that would cover up his incisions...a "out of sight, out of mind" kinda thing. Also I figured the incisions would be harder for him to get his mouth on them if they were covered up. This pic shows Tex wearing his jamz a few days after surgery...the sad look on his face is because he was still in pain.

Another time we found a good/unusual use for the jamz was the time we had a rescue dog who came from the shelter with a very bad skin condition that caused him to scratch almost constantly. I put a pair of jammies on him and immediately he stopped scratching. Any time we'd take them off, he'd scratch. So he wore his jams for two weeks straight, day and night. Now that little guy won't go to sleep at night without his jammies on. As you can see in the photo, the jammies don't hinder body movement...the dogs are still able to play and wrestle.

This Woofy Wear by Wendy™ pattern is designed for small dogs. Size measurements are: (measured from base of neck to base of tail)
Small: 12 to 13 inches
Medium: 14 to 15 inches
Large: 16 to 17 inches

If your small dog doesn't quite fit into these measurements, drop me an email as I'm able to make custom sizes slightly smaller and larger.

Doggie Coats

This is an example of the doggie coats. The coats are constructed in one piece, with no closure of snaps or velcro to fumble around with. The coat slips easily over the dog's head and then the dog's front legs are put through the sleeves. This coat provides warmth on the front legs and chest area.

For the coats for females, I sew the chest farther towards the abdomen to provide more coverage. I can also add a fringe embellishment on the girls' coats and jammers which is really cute. For males, I leave the chest/abdomen area more open so the coat doesn't get in the way of the male anatomy.

These coats are very comfortable for the dogs and can be worn all day with no discomfort or chaffing.
